morethanblue Designs is a small company started in the winter months of 2007/2008.

The company was founded with the vision of offering custom pieces of jewelry, knit and crochet for clients who appreciate the work and soul that goes into such pieces.

Our clients are a close-knit (please, please forgive the pun) community of friends and family and even the clients we've never met in person become a part of the morethanblue Family.

When designers "join the ranks" at MoreThanBlue they receive a bracelet based on their chosen colour and personality. Clicking in the designer's photo will also bring you to some images of their signature bracelet.

Blue - Founder & Chief Designer

Blue founded morethanblue Designs in the winter months of 2007/2008 out of a desire to share with a wider "audience" what her friends and family were already a privy to. She makes jewelry. She crochets. She knits.
She can turn her hand to almost any craft (except painting or drawing - she's certainly no "artist"!).

Why "morethanblue Designs"?

Here's how our founder Blue describes it:

The decision to call the domain 'morethanblue' was easy, the reasons behind that decision are complicated. I'll try to explain the best that I can.

I have always loved the colour blue in all of its various shades and hues. I have always worn blue clothes, been attracted to blue objects, bought blue things. I have "blueberry blue" eyes (when I'm in the right mood). When it was time to buy my first domain, I wanted something that helped to define me: the undefinable, the enigmatic. I wanted something that indicated who I am as a whole person, that highlighted every aspect of me; I'm a mother, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a partner, a friend, a crafter, a (very) amateur photographer, an employer, and more.

Being that I am known for my eye colour and for wearing blue, I wanted a name that encompassed that about myself and all that is more about me.
"More Than Blue" was 'born' and the domain was purchased. I love it. It fits.

When it came time to name the company I wanted to start, morethanblue Designs seemed like the natural choice.

(And this is all beside the fact that a very special man in my life helped me choose it.)
